has started drinking on his own and peeping loudly. i will keep a close eye on him for the next while.

Well, he took a turn for the worse, and never recovered. Died in my hands while I was trying to keep him alive.

I didn't see this until now. You need to get an eyedropper and dose them with the medication. You need to give them as much as you think they would drink at one sitting. You will need to do this every 2 hours until they start to feel better and really drink on their own.

What medication are you talking about and what is the dosage that you are using?

I'm sorry, I just reread all the posts to refresh myself on your problem. Waiting that long for meds is probably the culprit. You need to get the meds into them quickly. Find that eyedropper and get busy. You may lose them all. Try and also get some yogurt or other probiotics into them to try and help their intestines recover.

I hope that I'm not too late with this information to try and save the rest.

ill have to pick up an eye dropper tomorrow. hopefully the truck will be fixed and i wont have to bike it into town. as long as the end fits in the little beak, it should be ok, right?

It doesn't need to fit. You can put it on the end of his beak and squeeze in the meds, one drop at a time. I'm trying to think what else you could use...tomorrow, could be too late. You need to get those meds into those babies. Do you have anything that could work? A straw? You could hold your finger over one end and slowly let the meds drip out. Anything?

oh, and the med is Salumet. (spelling????)

Sulmet only kills a couple kinds of Coccidia whereas, Corid kills many more. If your babies aren't getting better, this could be your problem. If you can get your hands on Corid, it would be a much better drug of choice. It not only kills more strains but, it is also is much easier on their little systems.
