I am in day 20 and yesterday I had 7 chicks alive out of 42 eggs, now 2 of them are very weak and dying, can someone tell me what did I do wrong, why are they dying? the humidity is around 80-84 and temperature 99.5 since they went on lockdown. The incubator really stinks, I took the dead out but it stinks, what should I do?Maybe I am still on time to change something...

There is nothing you can do right now to get rid of the smell. I am concerned that bacteria has gotten into your eggs. I also believe that your humidity is too high. I would think 65 - 70 % humidity would be recommended.

Thank you, I will lower the humidity, my incubator instructions say between 75 and 85, so I actually though it was low...

One of the seven is almost dead, what can I do to avoid loosing the ones already hatched?

I would get them out of the incubator and put them in a brooder. Make sure that the temp is about 95 and that they have room to move away from it. Do you have any save a chick? If not, I would dip their beaks in sugar water to try and give them a boost.

Have you been changing the water in the incubator?

Thank you, I will do that in the morning.

You can turn on a heater and the hot water in the shower for humidity. Put the eggs in an egg carton in the bathroom long enough to change out the water. Make sure the airsac is up in the egg carton. Try to change out the water as quick as you can while being careful with the eggs.
