Hi,
I’m at work and I have a baby monitor on my 5 day old chicks (I’m very anxious) and I can see they have ripped up their kitchen roll bedding (which I’m using for the first week until I change to pine) and they may have eaten some. The bedding is under their water (hanging water system) so I think they have wet the kitchen roll when drinking and then eaten it as it’s easy to rip when wet. I’m wondering if they’ll be okay and if there’s anything I need to do. I obviously can’t stop them until I’m home from work in a few hours. Are they going to be okay? What do you recommend I do now?
Thanks,
Beth

Possibly just get pine shavings. Make sure to have grit, they should be fine.
I’ll change to pine shavings when I get home. I don’t have any grit currently as they’re just on starter feed and are only 5 days old. What kind of grit should I buy and should I give it to them straight away?
Thanks,
Beth
