chicks eating styrofoam

We have a new flock about 10 weeks old. They have found an opening under my deck and go under and are pecking away and eatring my white stryofoam insulation around my hot tub! Our older birds have never done this. It is very hard to get at but they are determined. Even after blocking the spots they get in, they seem to find a new way in. Is it addictive or something? will it killl them?

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me and I'd make sure they couldn't get to the area at all but here is an old post about the same kind of thing

Definitely need to completely block them. Styrofoam is dangerous for animals of all kinds to eat.
