Week and a half quail. Separated from the others because of the eye pecking. I look at other threads, but nothing similar.

So…for the past 3 days, one eye has been shut and swollen. I’ve been rinsing out with saline solution. Now can open eye on its own but still swollen and like hard white dried up skin on the eyeball. I’ve been putting ointment on it 2 times a day.

Been reading up a lot on what it can be, but can’t seem to find what it is. There are no issues with chick except the swollen eye and whatever it is. Eats, drinks, runs, etc pretty normally. Eye is watery at times, no mucus or discolored discharge.

The other 6 are perfect. Except for being bullies and pecking at it.
Any ideas?
What can be done?

I would guess scar tissue and that the chick is permanently blind in that eye. I don't think there's much you can do, but I'm not a vet. If there is an avian vet in your area, you might call them and ask.

I kind of figure that, but how do I alleviate pain or whatnot…. Or just leave it be the bulky-ness that it is? Like can I get an eye patch? lol

Nah, I figured, but I’ll give it its opportunity to see if it can survive.
These things happen. Life goes on.
