Chicks feathers never came in

Got this chick in March and his/her feathers never came in!! Anybody ever have this issue? Did they survive the winter??

I agree, but why does it’s whole back still have chick down too?

Odd. I had a hatchery silkie do this once, but it eventually started feathering in all over completely by 2 to 2 1/2 months.

Maybe it’s going through a partial molt? Or maybe it has a late feathering gene?

I had an EE rooster do this. He didn't get all of his feather until he was five months old! It is not going to hurt the chick, it is only a late bloomer.

He/she is 4 months old about 2 weeks younger then the black and white one. It’s like the top feathers never grew in just the down ones. It’s bald on the back also. Defiantly a later bloomer...a very late bloomer hahahahaa
