Yesterday it was so nice and warm I took my two 7 day old chicks outside to play. Here are some pictures! Enjoy!

No, they didn't have anything around them! They could go where ever they wanted to! All they wanted to do was follow me around and run around chasing each other! lol They are both the same age, but the yellow one has abunch of wing feathers but the other one only has a few feathers ...? Is the yellow one a roo? The blackish one is smaller than the other one, too?

Too soon to tell. Different breeds get feather development earlier. Often pullets get feather development sooner but really it is too soon! Wait for hackle and saddle feather development.

Adorable! I'm so tempted to get more, but we'll be moving to our farm in a few months where I can have them. Illegal in the town I live in now. Have to keep my girls incognito.

Okay I'm having some trouble here ... I kind of like the name "Chickadee" for the yellow chick, but I can't think of a name for the darker chick? What's a good name for her? They both hatched from green eggs. I know the darker chick has green feet, but the other chick doesn't.

I had all my chicks outside today too. I normally put out only the older chicks, but this time, I left out the younger ones too. They had a blast and were out for hours. They never run away. Always seem to stay in the shade, right next to the house and pool. If the sun would go behind a cloud, they would all run out in the grass, then when the sun came back out...zoom! back to the shade. A hawk flew by and circled once, but I went and stood above all the chicks and it flew off. That is my biggest worry.
Dh doesn't like them pooping right next to the house, but I figure they will venture out more when they are a bit older. For now, they feel secure close to a structure. Anyway, it got him moving on the larger run he is making. He was digging holes in the 85 degree heat today. It will be nice to have them out of the garage for good. My daughter gave everything a good cleaning while they were out of the brooder. I have 3 large brooders taking up the garage. They all needed a good cleaning.

Do you set a water outside while you have your chicks out there? If not, you should. mine drank a lot today...well, that and the ducks like to mess in it.

So nice to live where we can enjoy our chicks outside, isn't it?

I did put some water out there with them yesterday, but today I didn't cause they weren't out there very long.

They were eating everything in sight! LOL A bee was chasing them and they were running all over the place trying to get away from the bee! LOL

I'm going to have to reference final fantasy and say chocobo.
