Yes, I agree! They are great people to deal with. I had planned on placing another order with them this week. But like I said in the other post, I have 3 cross beaks from my last order. They were all EE chicks, so maybe this was just occuring with that breed or maybe I was just "lucky" and got 3 with my order. I really like the variety that they offer and might order from them again but I'll steer clear of the EEs. I might even call them this week and see what they say about the problem. They have always been nothing but helpful!

I ordered 25 chicks, they sent me an extra but one died during shipping and another within a day of their arrival.
and then 2 weeks ago (16 weeks) one dropped dead. Literally. About two hours between the time I noticed it was sick and the time it died. None of the other birds got sick.
also, I have 3 unidentified breeds in the mix that don't seem to match anything in the catalog and certainly weren't anything I ordered.
However, I ordered 2 roosters and the rest hens and that is exactly what I got. I was very pleased on that account.

I have had super luck with them..ordered 25 white leghorn pullets and got 26 all thriving now several weeks old.
I have had cross beaks from top breeders where I paid very well for the chicks...I wouldn't hold it against them it happens. We have even hatched them from our own stock..we raise more than we buy

Hi Don:

Just lost my buff brahma this AM. I knew she was being picked on but I thought she would be OK when I put her in the nesting box. I found her dead still in the box where I put her. About three weeks ago I lost a Comet in a similar way
.
I would like to replace them with 1-2 buff brahmas if you still have some but the only problem is that I believe that one of my hens (white leghorn) that I got somewhere else may be picking on the weak ones. So far the white brahmas seem OK even though they are small.

Please let me know if you still have any buff brahmas and also if you have suggestions on how to protect them short of giving the leghorn away. She is a beautiful bird but I don't want to lose any more ladies.

Hope all is well with your family and your animals.
