These are some wild chicks that lost their mother, someone gave them to me to raise because we have no wildlife rehab in the area, what kind of chick are they or are they too young to tell still without an id pic of the mother.

Also there is a spoon in there because they were picking at each other so I thought I'd put something with a shine on it for them to peck at, and so far its working.

great idea with the spoon, you can also put a few tree branches in, with limbs, give them something to climb on

They are flipping adorable! I don't have a guess, I am sure someone else will be able to help you

ooh, I was only thinking chicken, so I broke out my Cackle hatchery catalog, what about a Ringneck Pheasant? Are they in your area? The chicks look very similar to the ones in the catalog...not sure how many eggs they hatch though..just a thought

another thought...Buttercups?

I think they are cute too and I think they are either ringnecks chicks or ruffed grouse chicks we have both in the area. I added some branches for them and they are having a ball climbing and jumping off of them. I'm shocked at how friendly they are toward people, day one and they screamed to be talked to or held. They jump into anyones hand and just suck in attention. If all ringneck/grouse chicks are this tame I'm not sure how any survive to adulthood, they must have great birdy mothers.
