I'm on vacation in Florida (from around central Georgia), going home tomorrow, and our hen is hatching chicks. We have a neighbor at home caring for them, what should I tell her to do before we get home?!?
Please help!!!

*edit* they are still in the nesting box

If the nest is off the ground up high they will need to be gathered up and taken somewhere like a wire dog cage or a large cardboard box (with something for the top so she doesn't fly out) for both them and the hen til you get back to take care of them...chick starter and waterer....if you don't put the hen in with them they will need a heatlamp....and out of drafts...

I personally would put the hen with them...might have to wait til they all hatch...just be careful they don't fall out if up high....
