Yes you read that right. I have some eggs that contain hybrid chicks. At day 26 I gave up. Cracked one of the eggs before throwing them out. To my amazement there was a live chick inside. It didn't make it and I feel terrible now, but genuinely did not think this was possible. Temp has been at 37.5 throughout, humidity hasn't always been bang on but has been adjusted whenever necessary.

Now today one of the remaining eggs has pipped! How is this possible?

Are you relying on a built in thermometer, & hygrometer?

No I'm using additional devices. I hatched two chicks previously with all this gear, they arrived on days 22 and 23.
Were they calibrated?
My chick's, mainly my Orpington eggs like hatching on day 24-25.

I had 5 go 26 to 28 days. Started with 6 but one passed after hatching. Mine were found during a bad freeze and that may have delayed them? Idk. Sorry you lost a feathered furend.
