I have a clutch of surprise eggs hatching! The first hatched around 6:00 pm yesterday. There are currently 5 out of shell, 4 more pipped, and 11 more miraculously viable eggs. This rhode island red hen has been doing an excellent job, and this is her very first hatch. The eggs are a mix from a barred rock, and EE rooster. The hens laying were EE, barred rock, rhode island red, new hampshire red, and buff orpington. Im excited to see what these little mutts are going to look like.
