chicks have pecked hole in egg...no progress since 6am HELP

That's because what works varies for different people. I think 60-65% is the recommended.

I cant believe it but I have 4 out of 9. Its so amazing. There was just pip holes in the eggs at 3 so i went to call my friend and by the time I got off 2 were almost out. The 5 left have no pip holes but hey I am so happy for what I have.

I never plug any of the holes during incubation. A fresh supply of oxygen is very important to the chicks.

What??? Those little red plugs on top are supposed to be OUT???

will the humidity stay up with the holes open? I will try, DH is off to buy a moisture checker for me. I think he is getting into this.

I have those red caps on the top off for air circulation, is that correct.

when you opened the eggs did you look to see if the chicks had pierced the membrane or not. If they didnt prob your humidity was to low if they had then humidity was to high and they drown when they did. The first thing you need to do is get a hydrometer you need to know what your humidity is not just add water. The humidity level is the most important thing the last three days for the chick.
