I have found that too high of a temperature in the brooder promotes pasty butt--make sure your temps are ok to prevent further instances of pasty butt.

I use a soft tooth brush with warm soapy water to gently scrub it off ..takes way less time.. jeff

Hi, excuse me if my post seems rude, but I'm not a native speaker and just curious to know, never too old to learn. When you put veggie oil on their vent, by "vent", do you mean poophole ?

You need to be very careful about using human meds on your babies, though. They may be too strong even the creams and ointments. Veggie oil is plenty and
its all I did in the same circumstance. My little pasty butt is all better now and her down is back.
