Chick's have swollen bare spots

Two of our 3 week old chicks, who were abandoned by mom, have suddenly developed bulging bare spots on their right "shoulder" area at the base of the neck. Any suggestions?

I was hoping that was it, but I didn't realize it would be so one sided and back.

It can seem quite pronounced with chicks. As long as their crops are emptying overnight it should be fine.

The crop is on the side, it can be concerning the first time you see it but it is normal.
On a side note, if you give them any treats that isn’t their chick feed, make sure to provide chick grit for them so that they can breakdown those treats.
