Okay, so I got a voicemail from the PO today saying that my baby chicks were there! Yay! But wait.. I have NOTHING to feed them! Any suggestions? We do already have chickens.. So I have layer food.. And eggs.. Help please!

Very finely chopped hard boiled eggs work well. We were told by friend who raises chickens he always starts them on eggs for their first meal and his chickens are healthy and strong.

We did 6 eggs for 26 chicks and they loved it.

My mom is at work right now, and she's just running to get them, dropping them here, and going back. We live kind of in the middle of nowhere, so the closest feedstore is in the opposite direction of the PO. And, I have to go to school for the afternoon.. THEN, we can get them food. But I'd hate to leave them without sustenance.
Do scrambled eggs work? I don't think I have time to hard boil them..

cornmeal and milk (raw milk is best) mixed into a paste
cooked rice or oatmeal
they will probably be fine they are still digesting their yolk sacs

all the best

Scrambled would probably be okay, just don't use any butter or oil in the pan. Let us know how they are!

Feed some of what the above posters mentioned. They should be fine until you can buy them some food this afternoon. Mine love cornbread crumbs, tomatoes, boiled eggs.....CONGRATS on your new chicks too!
