(hope this is the right spot to post this)
We just put our 10 chicks (between 7-9 weeks I think) into a new coop. It is a coop with a henhouse and run combined, very predator proof, and the henhouse is open to the run all the time. I put them in the henhouse and they immediately went out into the run. My question: do I need to put them back in the henhouse at night? Will they do that on their own? There are roosts in the house and none in the run (just got it finished today, will probably put some in) so if they want to roost they need to go to the house, but I don't know if they have any idea that their are roost in there, since they spent so little time in there. In retrospect, probably should have kept them in the house a bit so they felt at home but...I didn't.
Any thoughts? If they are safe in the run, should I just let them stay out there if they don't go in on their own?
thanks
