chicks just hatched....feeding question

My chicks just hatched yesterday under a broody hen. She hasn't brought them out to feed or drink yet. If she doesn't by this afternoon do I need to intervene to get them drinking and eating? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Don't worry! New chicks don't need food and water for the first 2-3 days. Put some food and water near them. The hen will get up when she's ready and show them the food and they will copy her and drink.

I've hatched well over 100 chicks either under broody hens or incubators and I still worry about them!

Sometimes when they know you are there they quiet and hide them!
