Chicks keep knocking water over

So for the past 2 days our 6 week old chicks keep knocking over the waterer. I have attached a pic of our setup. I’m not sure if they are flying on it or what. Any tips?

Try using a wood block or pie pan under the water. What's likely happening is that the waterer is crushing the cardboard box, or the cardboard box is getting wet enough that it just crumbles underneath the combined weight of the water and the chicks.

You can also try hanging it from the top of the cage.

You can hang it-i use a daisy chain of zip ties and a caribiner so it can be adjusted as they grow or you can put it on something wider and sturdier that they can hop on. It looks to me like the thing under it is too close to the same size so its not very stable.

I use small bungee cords to tie the container part to the wire bars of the crate.

Oh so cute this isn’t helpful but I just want to say how cute they are and so small compared to my ducklings that are so huge already only 5 weeks old lol

Not a solution for your current set up… but I use this one from day 1. Pair it with a cheap baking rack to attach to and you can basically move it anywhere for any set up.

When I have to use a gravity waterer I prefer to hang it.

That way it's always level and can't get knocked over.

I use a chain and a carabiner.

Train them to use water nipples
