Try raising the waterer up on something, a brick or what have you. The basin of the waterer should be about level with the smallest chicks back.

I raised my water and feeder using several pieces of wood (3" high) They were raised high enough so that they don't try to roost on it but low enough to still access the water and food. My chicks are 4-5 weeks young.

Delaware, Ameraucana, and Rhode Island

I got a 3 gallon galvanized waterer and it sits on a couple of pavers in the run. Even my lab can't knock it over - in fact - she drinks out of it half the time! Couldn't figure out why it was emptying so fast until I caught her in there lapping it up.

We start with the feeders and waterer on pieces of 2 x 4's and add another level of 2 x 4 to each as the chicks grow. It keeps their pine shavings from getting into the feed and water...... mostly. Nothing accounts for the shavings that fly when they're moshing!

Mine were doing it too. It was already raised up but they kept running around and knocking it down. I raised it up higher and used a few zip ties to hold it to the side of the brooder but left them loose enough so I can still remove it to fill it up.

we have filled a lg feed pan (for pigs I think) with sand then put the water in the middle. they jump up on the sand but it has stopped the water from getting nocked over. Also keeps things dry cause any water splashed lands in the sand. some one on here suggested this and they put hardware cloth over the sand so they can't scratch all the sand out
