chicks laying on one side & holding one wing out?

The first time I saw one of my chicks doing that, I thought she was having a stroke! I panicked and came straight to the fine folks at BYC for advice. I was quite relieved to read that she was only trying to get a tan

The first time I saw all of my chickens sprawled like that I thought they were dead. LOL!! Swear to God I panicked. We now referred to the sandy area of our yard as the crime scene.

When ours all do that in one lump, they look so dead!! Except i already have a ferret who looks dead whenever he sleeps, so I'm used to it

hey, you can't be any worse then me when I started out. One of my girls was laying all spread out and kinda with her feet up in the air , very still like. I thought she was dead and went running out in the yard screaming

and just about gave the poor thing a heart attack! you should have seen her get up and run !

my husband was busy building a shed one day, and I saw one of my production reds sunbathing right outside of the door. i looked in the window and asked him what he had done to my chicken! he looked out all panicked and swore that he hadn't touched the poor thing. i burst out laughing and he kneI was fooling him.
