Chicks not developing? (Lots of Pics)

in my opinion, just from looking at the earlier pics of them, when you 1st got them and the breeder said the polish was 4 weeks and the others 2 weeks....i wonder if she/he meant 2 weeks and 4 days? the polish looks 2 weeks in that pic and the other 2 chicks look just days old.

the polish looks way to old for 2 weeks, at 2 weeks they start to sprout in their feathers, she might be 3 weeks but 2 i way to young

My two week old chick has more feathers than your 4 week old chicks :/ I think the little two were just a day old when you got them. The polish was probably 2 weeks old, and is now 4 weeks.

This is my ONE week old EE. Exactly 1 week old today.

Maybe 2 days old here. Same chick.

Also could depend on the conditions they were kept. I keep mine in the coop so they are exposed to more cold then when they were kept inside so they started to feather out pretty fast.

First of all Welcome to the flock. I am glad you have found answers to your questions on here. Keep in mind that these are opinions and may or may not be accurate. That being said, I think your chicks were much younger then you were led to believe. They appear to be doing well in the pictures. I have heard pro's and con's about medicated feed. I personally do not give my babies medicated feed. I do however put electrolytes in their water for about the first week. It is really up to you which feed you give but don't mix the two kinds. I have also found that when my husband bought feed he got it at a different store and it was very different feed! My chickens, peeps to my "old guy" started having loose stools. I switched them back to the TSC feed(DUMoor) and their systems were back to normal in just a few days. Hope this helps and again,Welcome!

That's a good point Mine feathered out quicker than I expected, but I really haven't kept the temp as hot as they recommend. My chicks pant at 90 degrees even as a day old. They are much happier at 80 right now.

I appreciate all the help - I think I'll just back up the age I thought they were by a week- so that should make the younger two starting their 3rd week and the polish starting her 5th week. Now I just get to keep praying they're all girls
