Chicks not returning to coop

at night...I have to put them back in their coop every night so far.

last ngiht I figured they would be able to do it themselves- so I want out at 9pm to check on them-and they were still in the pen-all huddled together trying not to freeze to death!!!!!

What do I do to make tthem do it themselves????? :|

You need to lock them in the coop for a good week or two so they get used to the idea that the coop is their home.
