Chicks not roosting

I have 4, 6 week old chicks. They have been outside in their coop for a little over a week now. The last few evenings they have gone into the coop after dusk with no encouragement however, i noticed this evening that they are sitting in the corner of the coop on the shavings and not roosting. I have seen them lined up on the roost at random times during the day and in the morning. Just wondering if it is normal that they arent on the roost at night when i go out to lock the door. Thanks

They are young and they still enjoy that pile they have always slept in. They will eventually roost. Generally by 3 months for most.
