chicks not very active

they will occasionally preen and they do eat and play we have them under a brooder light until they get hot at night and their droppings are normal other than an occasional wet one and they always seem to be cold.

That's definitely strange.

I wonder if they were raised in much warmer temperatures, and need to adjust? That might explain why they seem cold when the younger ones are not.

they only get under the light at night so it shouldn't be that I tried to encourage them to play by making them a small swing but they mostly walk right through it. could it be the starter feed? I have noticed that its not crumbles and its just pellets so I crushed it for them
