Hi Sabrina.

Unfortunately your picture didn't come through. Do you mean a pip? From the first break in the outer shell, it can take 24 hours for the chick to start zipping - which is breaking a circle around the eggshell to hatch. That process only takes 30 minutes or so, often less.

Good luck on your hatch!

The chick may have broken through a blood vessel while hatching. Is it out yet. And is it still bleeding?

No it's not out yet. And no it is not bleeding anymore. The chick that hatched was still in the incubator with the one that was hatching and it was helping it hatch and now the one that was hatching quit hatching and then it started bleeding. Will the chick live? And should I get him/ her out of the egg?
