Hello again. My one black chick died over the night and 2 are gone now and I don't know if they are dead or alive. It's so weird because they are not that big and only 10 days old. I keep my chicks in my house until they are old enough to go outside. Any idea of what happened or where they could be?

Cats, Rats, Snakes, Dogs, Kids? I've never had one go missing from a brooder box in the house.

We have all but the snake! Everything besides the rats are kept upstairs. One rat went missing last night and we still can't find it. Would the rat eat the baby chick?!

Rats will eat chicks, if given the chance. Chicks must be kept protected from other pets. And they start flapping those little wings early on. With in a week, they would be jumping out of that tub anyways without a top of some sort.
