Boy, TSC is going to have some unhappy folks! Getting a cockerel from sexed pullets just happens. Getting the wrong breed of chick is annoying. But to get chicks when you wanted keets? Yikes!Alright, I've never seen guinea keets but those are DEFINITELY chicks, not keets. Also, from a Google search, keets kind of look like turkey chicks and have stripes all over their bodies. They might be oegb, who knows.
Keets are way more expensive than chicks, I assume! It would suck to get scammed like that. But I hope people hoping to get guineas know what the keets should look like before buying them lol.Boy, TSC is going to have some unhappy folks! Getting a cockerel from sexed pullets just happens. Lol I would hope so too. I mean, I don't know every chick breed by sight, but I would know chicks from turkeys etc. I would think they probably are more expensive than chicks. The turkey poults at our Rural King were $10 each, where most chicks there were under $5. So it tracks that guineas would be higher as well.Keets are way more expensive than chicks, I assume! This sounds like something I would do!! That is so funny!Eureka! @ChickenChick46 you are definitely right! Bantam chicks. I’ve hatched many colors of guineas. The employee was insistent they were guineas.
I was temporarily high on the drug that is !new baby birds! And wondering if TSC was shipped some rare experimental color of Guinea.
It was an unexpectedly exciting evening. I stood by with my cart of feed and shavings, everybody walking past commenting on these “keets” while I waited for my secret source of expertise to make the ruling. I knew BYC would come through.
They were a mislabeled, and thereby marked up, bird of a different feather. That impulse purchase would have wrecked my whole deal, which is exclusively guineas. Thank you so much @ChickenChick46. I love BYC!!
