I live in southern California. We don't have weasels here. There are raccoons, but none in this area as we are far from the river/water sources, so thanks for that. I'll try to modify it.
ETA: We may have weasels in CA, but not where I live. Here it's occasionally coyotes or opossums, maybe raccoons.
Weasels are found in all 48 states. Just b/c you live in a city, does not mean that you don't have weasels, raccoons, foxes, coyotes, or any other predator. You'd be surprised what passes through your back yard at night. You may never see a weasel, and won't know that one has come calling until you find your flock dead in the morning. Cats and dogs, both feral and the neighbor's pet are also very adept at killing chickens.
