So today is day 22 for the chicken eggs that I have under a broody hen. I candle which I'm pretty sure one is bad but the other 3 are black blobs that fill the whole egg besides the air sack. I also water candled which revealed no movement along with tapping on the eggs which had no results either. I've had eggs hatch day 25before so I don't wanna throw them out but I'm leavin for girls camp tomorrow and my parents will be caring for the birds Tuesday through Friday till I get home. Should I crack the fat end of the egg open by the air sack which dosent kill the chick but alows me to see inside the egg to see what's alive or just leave the eggs under her and wait? My parents won't be able to contact me at girls camp as it is a cell free zone.

I'd leave them, what's alive will hatch and what's dead wont. Mama hen shouldn't have any problems unless an egg is accidently crushed last minute, plus if the hen finds a damaged egg she very likely will toss from the nest as done for, or eat it :( my Delaware did it to an unsuccessfull first pip one time luckily the other 3 eggs were successful. They're omnivorous and a damaged egg is a threat to the others and good possible protien, I wouldn't risk it. If you're 90% sure the egg is dead you can try, but if it's not....
