chicks picking on one chick

Hmmm...do you all find it better to separate out the picked-on chick or the bully? I've heard of both methods being used.

I have tried both ways.. I separated the bully from the group and another hen just picked up the job.. so in the end I had to separate the two hens I had that were getting beat up pretty badly.
