Hummm.... to back up my theory on the treat cup, our 7 week old columbian jumped the baby gate on the man door into the coop (designed to stop baby escapees)... the border collie thought it would be interesting to herd her until corrected to bugger off and the baby hen dashed into the wooded spot next to where the fence will be (yes, its not fenced yet)... I got home to Simon attempting to bribe her with corn on their treat plate... she was having none of that so I opened the pop door (which has never been opened for them for obvious reasons) put the treat cup at the opening of the pop door (keeping the other babies inside away from the door) and there goes garbae guts up the ramp into the coop ... Miss Adventurer back into her coop!
This proved that chickens can be trained with the appropriate bribery and a metal treat tin.... OK well maybe its me who's trained...
