I couldn't believe my eyes when I first saw one chick, sitting on momma hen's back. There are 3 chicks, just one has this piggy-back habit. Could this be a sign this one chick is more"chicken", or fearful of the big world?

My 5 chicks do the same thing, I have a picture of it as my background. I have 13 other chicks that she voluntarily took in and a few tried to do the same

One of my hens just hatched out six chicks the day before yesterday, and yesterday was the first day she had them out and about. My daughter and I must have spent several hours just sitting near the run watching their antics. We're in chicken nirvana here! I can't believe how fascinating they are and how much we're enjoying them.

That is toooo cute!! Life doesn't get any more peaceful and serene as watching chicks play around! My dh built me a "hoop house" (greenhouse made of pvc pipe and plastic) this spring and we have been putting our 5-6 week old bantams out there in the day. We just go out there, set and watch them for hours!! We get nothing done! I'm waiting on one of my 14 hens to go broody!
