chicks scared by my timer

My chicks have only been in their coop for about a week and today I was taking pictures of them while baking cookies in the house. I'd set my phone's timer for the cookies and when it went off all the chicks ran and hid behind me. The sound on the timer is an elephant's charge!

LOL.. but I would be afraid of an elephant charge too!!

We used to used one of the sounds on my husband's iPhone to get the chickens in when they were younger. The one that sounds like a submarine 'dive' alarm, best I can describe it. Anyway, they were only mildly scared of it /annoyed by it and went inside the first couple times, but after that, they came from all over the yard and went inside whenever we played it...like it was the 'time to go in' sound.

LOL, since mine have yet to figure out how to get into the coop at night I just might try that!
