My chicks have been in there coop for a week now. I just stopped using the heat lamp. So they have had 2 night with out it so far. They all pile up by the door of the coop and sleep there all night.....I think there scared of the dark. They also peep loudly when I turn the lights in the barn of and/or shut the barn door. They are 5 weeks old. Are they scared of the dark? When will they get used to it? Will they be okay? I feel like such a bad mommy!!!!!! [IMG]

Other than checking to make sure no one is getting crushed in the pile ups by the door, I would suggest letting them get over it. Keeping a light on them 24/7 is stressful. They need to learn to be chickens and roost at night. In a few days they'll be okay with it, I promise. [IMG]
