Chicks seem underdeveloped at day 18

Ok. My advice is to use common sense. Lol
If you are trying anything for the first time, especially in this case when the welfare of the animals is Number 1 priority, why do it to the extreme? If I am learning how to make cupcakes, I make 6 not 50 and pick a simple recipe. Example

Valid point. Thanks.
I did do several test runs before beginning to use the whole incubator, and was satisfied with the results. My hatch rate has been about 97%, and I rarely lose a chick post-hatch.
I am thankful to have had a good mentor, and I did my own research. No need to fear, I don't take the lives of my chicks lightly. Thanks for the concern.

Is impossible that one area of the incubator was cooler? Or were they all moved within the incubator when turned?
Good thought. I am not sure... if this happens again, I will be sure to take note of the location of each egg, so that I can watch for a pattern.
I have a good secondary thermometer/hydrometer on the way to make sure the temp and humidity are accurate too.

What did you do to rectify the situation? Did your babies hatch out alright?
I actually didn't rectify it. We had unplugged the incubator and were waiting a few days to let everything settle before doing eggtopsys and several had pipped before not making it since the hear and humidity were no longer functioning

Oh no! :(
So now, do you move the eggs around during incubation?
