Chicks seem werid

Ok, everybody relax. OP, turn off the heat lamp for a little bit. Turn it back on in a little bit, keep an eye on the chicks so they don't get too chilled in the meantime. When you turn it back on, raise it up so it won't be too hot for them. In the morning, go get a proper brooder and thermometer. You need to know what the temperature is by the chicks at all times. You can even use a large cardboard box as a brooder. As long as you raise the heat lamp, I don't think the chicks will die overnight. When they cool down, they should start eating

or even a closet or place on the floor that you can barricade off with something to hold them in and some way to put the heat lamp focused on one section of it so they can get under it if needed and out from under it if not needed. Line the floor with newspaper or something. There is all kinds of things you can do if you get a little creative. It is temporary,

I’d dump out the shavings. Just use cheap paper towels for the first week.
I sprinkle food down and “peck” at it with my finger and they will copy. It’s how I’ve taught all my new chicks. Then don’t put shavings down till you start them on grit.
That’s been my routine and I’ve have no chick losses.

The brooder situation does need to be addressed asap.
A brooder can be anything. Storage tote, animal crate or fence, cardboard box, walls made from cardboard and just paper towels for the floor, bathtub, shower, book shelves taped together..... Heck tape books/dvds/video games together and make walls that way. As others have said, just get creative. Or ask if someone nearby has a box or big tote they can loan you for the night. There are so many options.

OP, possible update? How is it going?

Do you have a full length mirror? Lay it on it’s side against a corner to make a 3 sided cage. Then line with newspaper and paper towels.
Anything along the lines of this will work, gotta get creative!

Good idea to ask around as well, OP do you have neighbors? I would run to a neighbors house asap and ask if you can borrow a cardboard box or a storage tote
