We got some baby chicks (15) just 2 days ago, March 12, and they sleep like they are dead. It really worried me on the first day i had them, this never happened with my old batch. Ive had one that would sleep on her back, but she was fine. Now its 2 days later and ive lost two. Im worried that it has something to do with how they sleep, cause they dont look sick. When they are up they eat and drink normaly.

Here they are sleeping on the first day. We have some tophats, polish crosses, and araucanas. We lost a tophat, and a polish cross. I think they are polish silkie crosses due to them having 5 toes on each foot tho. Any ideas or could it be shipping stress?

I think that's normal, baby chicks usually sleep like that. It's cute.

While I'm no expert on baby chicks I'm pretty sure it could just be stress from shipping. Don't forget to check for pasty butt and put vitamins in their water!

Ive had my babies sleep like that. Its probably just because they're growing and the stress from shipping. Its hard on their little baby bodies. If more keep dying then its definitely a cause for concern but other than that I wouldn't worry to much. Good luck!
