Today the tempature was in the 60's so I took advantage of it and let my 5 and 1/2 week olds enjoy the great outdoors for their first time. They all stayed together and didnt really run a lot. They found some sand and ate it. I am assuming that they were using it as grit. All and all they enjoyed themselves. Below are some pictures of their day.

aww I bet they had fun! I let my little 6-8 week old chicks out today to enjoy the warmth.

Your babies are huge! I wonder if mine are younger then 8 weeks because they are maybe a 1/4 of that size.

Really? I know theyre big. I mean they grew so FAST! This is my first flock so I didnt know how fast they grew. They are production red, black australorp, and dark brahma. I know for a fact they are about 5-6 weeks old. I bought them from TSC on March 3rd.

Krisy624-What kind of chickens do you have?

How cute!! I bet they had fun! Mine are 6 weeks old tomorrow. I should of got them out today it was 80. But we were working in the coop alllllll day long!!! I'm wore out. How does your dog do with them? I have a golden ret. And he's scared of them. Lol. That might change when there all outside though. I'll be watching carefully. He's very gentle but u never know.

Mine are Rhode island red and cornish hens or golden comets - they didn't know which ones the last 2 were.

I think I figured out mine are 1-2 weeks old from TSC... they said 6-8 but once I looked around and saw the pictures of 5+ week old chickens they looked HUGE compared to my little things!
I can't wait till they get bigger though!

I have 2 dogs. A border collie named Zoey and a hound named Penny. Penny just sniffs the chicks. But I still wouldnt trust her with them alone. But my other dog is really mean to them. She tried to bit them twice. So she aint aloud to see the chicks! Haha!
