So this partly sharing my chickies and also a question.

I am not sure how many weeks they are, probably 7 weeksish. They stay outside all day now, free ranging when I am home and in the coop when I am at work. They still come in at night in their brooder, which is starting to get too small for them.

So this is what happens when it starts to get dark:

Obviously they will need to sleep in their coop soon. How do I break them from this habit of waiting at the back door to come inside, It is very cute though!

just put them in the coop at nite after a few days they will go...dont let them in the house its not sanitry{imho}.. jeff

It's not so much that they want to come in the house as they're ready to go to bed, and bed is currently in the house. Just move them to the coop, they're plenty ready! They'll cluck and fuss some at dusk for a few nights, but it's not hurting them in the least. They just don't like change. Confine them to the coop and they'll be fine.

Yes, the key is confining them to the coop for close to a week, or so. This tells them that is now "home" and they'll return there at dark.
