I have moved my chicks from the old brooder into a new larger one at night they will not go to sleep unless they get moved to the old one and then they go right to bed. Why do they not want to sleep in the new place?

New places are scary. The first night we had ours out in the coop I swear they didn't go to sleep. Same for the first night without a light ... lots of "I'm scared, rescue me" noises. The trick is to not give in otherwise they learn that by making noise you will move them back. Often it's recommended to lock chickens in for a few days to a new coop so they imprint on it as safe/home.

Any pics of brooder set ups? Same heat sources in each brooder?

Exactly, common sense. They are babies. Of course they’re going to be scared. And just like getting your kids to sleep through the night you don’t just keep picking then up and taking them back to your bed or wherever or they never learn.

Helps if you use their old bedding because it smells familiar.
