He was a gift from the hatchery where we ordered our chicks, and I must say I was not happy to have another roo because we already had 4 aggressive roos we had to separate from the hens! They actually drew blood from each other and the hens! But Poli turned out to be the best of the lot and he has made our life a lot easier because he is so attentive to the hens! I had never had a Polish chicken before and I must say, we are quite taken with the calm and coolness of the breed. We have 8 more we are raising and hopefully, they will live up to the good nature of our Poli!
