Chicks with a broken leg??

We got chicks today and one of the silkies looks like it has a broken leg or it’s deformed. It is putting no weight on the leg, is there anything I can do to help it heal?

Do you want to send a picture? Sometimes chicks can get splay leg and you have to splint them together but that doesn't sound like what you are describing exactly. An actual broken leg would be a little more complicated.

I was looking at its leg and it looks like the problem is at the elbow part, it’s all flat instead of round

It looks and sounds like a slipped tendon. They are very hard to fix, but sometimes fixable in the first days. Here is some reading (note second paragraph) and a video:

Sorry Starrmarr! I don’t mean to butt in, but I was literally about to post the same question (your chick looks like the EXACT same way mine did when she was that age) and since all the experts are already on this post can you look at mine too? She’s almost a month old..I don’t know if she’s in pain or if she can live like this? She runs among the other chicks ok and is just as big as they are

I have mine in a hobble I made from a straw, and I have him elevated so he can’t stand on it. I was also wondering if there is any pain meds I can give him, and can I put chicks in with him so he doesn’t get depressed?

I seen somewhere else on here that somebody gave their chicks aspirin but I have no idea how they did that lol. I left soft music on for my ‘sick bay’ chicks and they just kinda chilled out lol

Well I think keeping it in a sling worked but it’s leg is now straight without the splint. I also went to put it with the other chicks and it’s significantly smaller than the others and it looses body heat a lot. Any advice?

I got the leg to bend all the way but it was sticking out so I put a hobble on it so hopefully in a few days it can be a normal chick again
