Chicks won't go outside!

I have almost 10 week old chicks that have been out in the coop for weeks but will not come off the ladder and go roam their outside pen. If one accidently falls off they go nuts and run back in. Has anyone else had this problem??

It's a great big world outside the coop. You have to force them outside and then they will be fine. Our two week old chicks go into an outdoor grow out pen with a larger outdoor run. You can open the door and they will never go out and explore. But we force them out into the run. They huddle scared in a corner for about an hour before they start to explore. Once they figure it out then there is no stopping them.

Bait them out with a treat. then each day go a bit further. It will not take a week and your finished if it takes that long.
