Chicks Won't Leave the Hen House....LOL

Okay, so we worked our tails off getting the run ready for the girls. I decided that "Today is the Day"!!!!

I had a vision of me opening the door to the hen house, and all of my girls filing out, happy to see the world outside (okay, not really....but that would have been awesome).

I tried to coax them out with some favorite treats. A few of them stood at the door, swiped the treats, then ran back inside...LOL.

I know it is a scary world out there for them. I am just wondering how long it might take for them to start venturing outside.

Give them a couple of days and they'll venture out. Or you can put their food and water out which may persuade them to come out.

Chickens are leary about new things because predators LOVE chickens and everything could be a predator to them. If one of them gets brave enough to come out, others will soon follow. You could also leave some treats down the ramp (if you have one) starting near the door. If the bribe is good enough some will be hungry enough to do for it.
