I did a search for hatcheries in my state and found a couple within easy driving distance. These were state certified and had a wide variety of breeds. Our chicks are healthy, full off energy and growing like weeds. You can buy 3 to 30 or more. What I liked is they show you their facility and various breeding stock. Everything from quail to Emu. Have used McMurray with no problems, just too far away and weather is always a factor in the spring.
