How old dose a hen need to be before she starts to lay? I've seen it on here before, but can't fine it.
my little girl is right at 8 weeks.......She is sweet too.......alittle leghorn chick...thanks....pss: i love this web site....thanks to everyone......Mitch

Anywhere from 18 - 22 weeks, depending on breed, and some may even take longer. It also depends on what time of year the pullet reaches point of lay - if it's in winter, that may delay egg-laying.
 
And don't forget to factor in Murphy's Law - if they are your first eggs ever, they'll take longer just to keep you waiting!! LOL!
