* Hi, just happened on your post tonight-- hoping the chickie is still with us. I would immediately start moistening her food with a little Activia and a few *DROPS* of Dasani bottled water. Both have a mild to mod lax effect. I would discontinue the Dasani as soon as she passes the cork, though, and use the Activia only a very short time, maybe 3 feedings. MIX THIS FRESH EACH MEAL TIME AND DO NOT LEAVE IT AFTER SHE HAS STOPPED EATING-- VERY IMPORTANT. She needs water. Give her a few drops often with an eyedropper until she drinks sufficiently on her own. Hope this helps.

Thanks, it's good to get a response. I will try the activia, but she has passed the "cork". I had wiped a tiny bit of plain yogurt on her beak.

Overnight she made a few small poopies. This morning I washed her butt in warm water. Then she made BIG poopie. She still seems a little constipated and her poop is more solid than I'd like to see.

I am concerned about getting enough liquid in her. She is separated from the others and I have marked the line on her waterer. She does know how to drink- just doesn't seem to do it as much as she should.

* Oh, wow! I'm glad she's made it thus far. You really gotta wonder sometimes with these chickens, don't you?? Some of them just don't seem to get the hang of living!!

* It has magnesium in it, and it seems to have a little more of it than in other bottled waters. So, it can. Magnesium is really good for you in the right amount, and I don't think Dasani overdoes it, but magnesium is also SOLD as a laxitive. Milk of Magnesia, epsom salts are all powerful concentrated magnesium. THEY can cause pretty serious problems with overuse or long time use. Like death even. Unbalances the mineral mix in your body.

I thought I was out of the woods, but found her with her legs splayed out. Every time I think she wants to be put out of her suffering, she finds new strength and fights. I think she will go out a fighter. I did get some dasani and yogurt mash into her, but I can't imagine she is much longer for this world. So, when does the relaxing part of owning chickens kick in?
