Chiggers and chickens.

Up here, those are in several lakes for about a week in the summer. The DNR usually posts when and where they are so everyone stays out of the water. It's usually when algae blooms it seems.

When I read her post I had to look it up as obviously her chickens weren't swimming in a lake. ;)
Holy cow, chiggers in water????? What a nightmare. Here in Oklahoma they are mostly in blackberry thickets, prairie/grassland, bad enough that many a time a man hunt for an escaped prisoner wound up with the guy turning himself in after learning about chiggers. We used to head to the public pool so the chlorine killed them or get out the chlorox and take a bath.
