Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Casey reached over to Amara to hold her hand gently. He nodded as he looked at Emily. "We will. Even if he has to make a fence around it, having an outside place to go to would calm the animals in us."

"Thank You," Emily said, sincerely meaning it. With all the chaos today, their compliance touched her heart. There was hope for these kids yet! "I'll have someone fix the window, no need to worry about that, then I'll get to work on seeing what can be done byway if a garden. Is there anything else you'd like to address while I'm here? I'm open to any and all suggestions."

Casey nodded again "We don't want to make it harder for anyone, we really do believe being outside, even confined would be beneficial. That's even been proven true for humans without enhancements like ours. Gardens and pets" He said the last with a chuckle. They didn't need the pets, they were the pets. "The only other thing would be activities, group activities to bring us together. Game nights, movie nights, things like that to help us feel more like a family instead of separate beings."
Amara was comforted by Casey reaching for her hand, she grabbed a hold of it like a life line. Taking a few deep breaths to calm herself when she realized Emily was not mad like she thought she would be. "And clothes, I would like some clothes. I, uh, don't really have any, I was given a pair or two but..its stupid never mind." She said quickly her boldness gone when she realized how stupid it was to ask for something that would only benefit her. She looked down at her hands too embarrassed to look at either of them.

"Thank you, thank you very much," Samantha said, bowing her head slightly. She pulled a bag of peanuts towards herself and flipped it between her fingers as she looked back up at Ellie. "You ought to try it sometime; works wonders," she said, with a wink.

Zaine meant to say "thanks", but it came out more of a barely decipherable mumble.

Alexis sat down on the bed beside so she could look Lyra in the face more easily. "And mine, last time I checked, is Alexis," she said. "Good to know your name. Your drawing is really good." The effort it took to sound chipper only made her sound flat and uninterested. Whatever. Maybe she was flat and uninterested. Here was Zaine—of all people—sitting with his lovely lady friend, and she was the one third wheeling.

Zaine couldn't decide if that was a fake smile that she gave them, but under circumstances, he let it slide. At least she was talking.

Ellie laughed as she popped a dip covered pretzel in her mouth. "No I need my mirror, this takes effort these days." She said as she gestured to her face and hair with a grin. She looked at Sam then, "Hey uh, thanks for sitting down and talking to me. Sometimes I have trouble making that first step anymore. So yeah, uh thank you." She said with a curt nod trying not to make it awkward.

(wait a go Zaine, real smooth.lol, is it just me or is it kind of weird having Ellie and Zaine in the same post, even if it is split? its like they are so close but so far away.)

Lyra just chuckled at Zaine, she wasn't sure what he said but she was choosing to take it as a thank you for such a nice compliment. She then turned to Alexis with a smile, "nice to meet you, good to put a name to the face, and thanks for not being weird ed out by petting you in your cat form. I always loved cats, your super lucky to get to be one. I am a skunk of all things. And thank you, for thinking its a good sketch." She added for good measure, she still didn't know exactly what all went down but what she had gathered was this girl and the man they had gone in search for and found were in some sort of relationship and had had a falling out. If that was the case she could understand her apathy for pretty much everything. She felt bad for her and wanted to make it better but was lost on the how.

Emily nodded along with each suggestion, making mental notes and wishing she had thought to bring a note pad and pen as they talked further. "That's a great idea! Getting to know others can be tough, but that would bring everyone together to give them an easier chance," she said enthusiastically. Just talking to Casey and Amara gave her a sense of self-fulfillment, something she hadn't had in too long. She'd liked her past principal job, but she hadn't really been able to get her hands in and actually make a difference for the kids. Here, Well, they were doing as much for her as she hoped to do for them. She turned slightly to address Amara. "It's not stupid at all," she said quickly. "I'll personally see to it that your wardrobe is expanded. Do you all have the correct books and such? Anything else shortcoming that I should know about? I know it got difficult up to when you all arrived to ensure there was enough necessities all around."

Ares was still sniffing out the trail leading from where Dimitri had lain. Someone had come by with cleaning supplies since then and for the most part he was just getting big sniff-fuls of Windex. Great, just great. Pity there wasn't a bloodhound here. They'd do a heck of a lot better than his little leopard, he thought dismally. Jerking his head up, he padded off down the hall, following what he hoped was the attacker's scent.

Luca smelled a cat of some kind as he wandered through the halls in his wolf form. He kept following the scent, hoping to find anyone to be at least friends with.

Ryder sighed as he ate his apple, wondering what Luca was doing.

Dryden walked around, looking for someone to talk with in the lonely labs, for him anyway.
Ares stopped short when he spotted the massive dark wolf ahead. Attacker immediately flashed through his head. Big, burly, definitely mean looking—but then, maybe he was a bit bias, being a feline himself. He shifted, then straightened, rolling his shoulders back. "Heya," he said, raising a hand briefly in greeting.

Atalanta furrowed her brow as she narrowed her eyes, looking at the man ahead. She didn't recognize him, but then, she didn't recognize much anybody unless she had a helpful reason to. "Whatcha doing?" She asked as she neared.

Sam laughed at the gesture. She herself actually did use a mirror, but there was no need to mention that since right now her hair looked pretty atrocious. "Oh, don't mention it," she said, with a wave of her hand. She wasn't used to gratitude directed at her, so redirecting it felt like the best option. "Thanks for not trying to scare me off with your garlic pretzels."

(Sad for them, fun for me XD I do like to torture my characters so)

"I was past being weirded out by anything five years ago," Alexis said, chuckling softly. "It felt good, honestly. About the only advantage being a cat that size is the attention. People just aren't as willing to pet a 100-pound cheetah. Or a skunk." She laughed at that, but then realized that may come across rudely and shut her mouth.

"As long as a skunk doesn't spray you, it's mostly like petting a cat," Zaine added helpfully. He glanced up at Alexis, trying to gauge what she wasn't saying.

"Can I see?" Alexis asked, glancing to Lyra. "I mean, do you mind? I've never seen a skunk except in pictures."

Casey shrugged then squeezed Amara's hand gently "I think that's it, at least it's all I can think of for now. I'm sure we will have other needs when more of us are done with the school part."

Dryden slightly jumped. "Oh, nothing." he almost growled.

Leah smiled and lovingly combed through his long locks of hair. She began singing a Swiss folk song, in her calm, beautiful, and serene voice, hoping to comfort him, he as placing trust in her now as well.
William smiled as her listened to her voice, which was much easier to hear her sing at this close of proximity. Between her serene voice and her fingers running through his hair and massaging his scalp he quickly dozed off.

Amara looked up at Emily in surprise, " You will? Um, thank you, thank you very much." She said hurriedly with a nod of her head as she turned and gave Casey a beaming smile. Not only was she going to see what she could do about making some sort of outside space, but she was also going to get her some clothes.

( :gig )

Lyra gave Alexis a smile and nodded. She sat up and shifted into her skunk form and sat back on her haunches and looked at both of them for a minute. Then to show her that she was not going to spray anything or anyone she marched over to Zaine and climbed in his lap and pushed at his hand with her cute little nose.
